United Nations Universal Periodic Review 2010
The U.S. will undergo a Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of its
human rights obligations by the U.N. this year. As part of the review
process, officials from the U.S. Department of State traveled to New
Orleans in January in the first of a series of human rights
consultations to hear how the U.S. is living up to its treaty
obligations. The consultation was hosted by the Equity and Inclusion
Campaign, the Gulf States Human Rights Network, the Greater New Orleans
Organizers Roundtable, and the U.S. Human Rights Network.
